5 Homemade DIY Fruit Skin Treatments You Will Never Go Without Again!

Waking up in the morning, staring into the mirror, and realizing that your skin does not look as it did years ago can make most people long for youthful looking skin. You can achieve the skin you want without breaking the bank purchasing skin-care products instead turn to Mother Nature. Fruit contains some of the best vitamins, enzymes, and acids found in skin-care products.

Strawberries

The key ingredient in many over-the-counter acne medications is salicylic acid, which strawberries naturally contain. A homemade strawberry cleanser is mild and removes surface impurities while deep cleaning your pores creating a smooth, clear complexion in just weeks.

Scrub Ingredients:

6 whole strawberries

3 tablespoons witch hazel

2 tablespoons almond or jojoba oil

In a blender, blend all ingredients until smooth. Pour into a bottle with a tight fitting lid and place in the refrigerator. When ready to use, massage mixture over face while gently rubbing in a circular motion. Rinse face with warm water and pat dry. The strawberry cleanser will last approximately 2-3 weeks in the refrigerator.

Papaya

Papayas contain papain, an enzyme known to soften and revitalize skin if absorbed. Papayas are commonly found in your local grocer during the summer. Papayas also have an amazing gift to the skin, they are gentle and exfoliate the skin, thus they remove layers of dead skin, and wrinkles become less noticeable every time you use the mask.

Mask Ingredients:

1 ripe papaya

Use only ripe papayas as the acid is too strong in unripe ones for the skin. Peel and remove the seed from the fruit. Chop it into small pieces and place in a blender. Puree the fruit until smooth. Apply the pureed papaya onto clean skin (the face and neck). Allow to sit on the skin for approximately 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water. The mask will keep for two days if placed in the refrigerator.

Pineapple

Have you ever wondered how Hawaiians keep their bodies baby-soft? Many swear by the use of pineapples! Dipping a pineapple into sugar and exfoliating from head to toe is the secret. Pineapples contain bromelain, which naturally removes rough, dry skin and leaves a body feeling soft and extremely smooth.

Body Scrub Ingredients:

The peel from a fresh pineapple cut it into strips

OR

¼-cup crushed pineapple

¼-cup sugar

Sprinkle the insides of the pineapple peel (where the fruit is) with sugar. If using crushed pineapple, place both the pineapple and the sugar in the blender. Massage your skin with either the peel or blended version of the body scrub while in the shower. Rinse and pat dry. The body scrub does not last, so make it immediately before use.

Watermelon

Next time you enjoy a juicy slice of watermelon, look at this fruit differently. Watermelon makes a great facial toner! Watermelon is loaded with antioxidants and amino acids that not only create good from the inside but also clears your pores and controls oil on the skin. Watermelon will help your skin not appear greasy.

Watermelon Toner Ingredients:

2 tablespoons fresh watermelon juice

2 tablespoons witch hazel

2 tablespoons water

Place a slice of watermelon in a strainer and push the pulp through extracting the juice. Pour the watermelon juice, witch hazel, and water into a bottle with a lid and place in the refrigerator. Apply the watermelon toner to your skin with a cotton ball after you have washed it. The watermelon toner will last for approximately 5 days in your refrigerator.

Kiwi

Vitamin C boosts skins radiance. It also helps correct sun damage and pigmentation problems, which can and will dull skin. The tiny seeds in Kiwi fruit also buff the skin creating a smoother texture.

Kiwi Scrub Ingredients:

½ kiwi fruit

2 tablespoons cornmeal

Do not peel the kiwi fruit and place it in a bowl. Mash kiwi fruit with a fork or kitchen utensil of your choice. Pour in the cornmeal and blend in a blender until satisfied with the consistency of the scrub. Massage over your face after you have cleaned it, leaving the face the damp while working the scrub into the skin. Rinse and pat dry. The kiwi scrub does not last, so make it immediately before use.
